Petrobras signed an agreement to acquire a 75% interest and operatorship of Block 3 offshore S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Africa, from Oranto Petroleum. Petrobras resumed activities on the African continent in 2024 and already holds interests in blocks in S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe.
The current consortium comprises Oranto as operator with a 90% interest and the National Petroleum Agency of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe (ANP-STP) with 10%. Upon completion, the consortium will consist of Petrobras as operator with 75%, Oranto with 15% and ANP-STP with 10%.
