Preliminary assessment indicated high-quality light oil.<br>Bubale-1X was spud in late February 2026. Murphy holds a 90% working interest in the block, with Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale d\u2019Op\u00e9rations P\u00e9troli\u00e8res de la C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (PETROCI) holding the remaining 10%.<br>The well is the third and final in Murphy\u2019s current exploration campaign offshore C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, following the Civette-1X and Caracal-1X wells.
