H&P adopting Caterpillar’s new dual-fuel technology

H&P is introducing the Cat Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) Gen 2 Kit by Caterpillar Oil & Gas to its drilling rig fleet. The DGB Gen 2 Kit is designed to retrofit existing engines, including the Cat 3512C, maximizing engine efficiency while reducing the need for costly engine replacements.By utilizing advanced port-injection technology, the system optimizes the air-to-fuel ratio in the cylinder, minimizing methane slip and improving thermal efficiency. This technology allows H&P to achieve up to 75% diesel displacement, delivering cost savings on fuel and contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions.Further, the integration of real-time engine controls from the

Prairie begins completion of Opal Coalbank Pad

Prairie Operating Co. is beginning completions of the Opal Coalbank project, which spans two distinct DSUs and is currently in partial development, leveraging nine drilled but uncompleted (DUC) wells acquired from Bayswater. This phase of the project is focused on unlocking immediate cash flow through the completion of the existing DUCs—targeting six in the Codell and three in the Niobrara B. Completions are set to begin in May, using Prairie’s tailored design optimized through multivariate and geo-mechanical analysis. Production is on track to commence by summer. The broader Opal Coalbank project offers significant future upside as Prairie evaluates additional developments across

Apache, partners announce Sockeye-2 flow test results

APA and its partners Lagniappe Alaska and Oil Search announced the results of the flow testing of the Sockeye-2 exploratory well. Apache holds a 50% working interest, operator Lagniappe and partner Santos each hold 25% working interests in the 325,411-acre exploratory block located on state lands of the eastern North Slope. The Sockeye-2 well was drilled to a depth of approximately 10,500 ft and encountered a high-quality Paleocene-aged clastic reservoir with an average porosity of 20%. The vertical Sockeye-2 well was completed in a single 25-ft interval at approximately 9,200 ft TVD, without stimulation. The well performed in line with expectations during
