Perenco drills three onshore development wells
Perenco Colombia drilled three new development wells on the Paravare and Chaparrito fields on the plains of Casanare, onshore Colombia.On the Paravare field, which already contained two wells, the objective of the campaign was to increase production. A third well, PRV-03, was successfully drilled and continues to be optimized.Following the installation of an electro submersible centrifugal pump, PRV-03 is currently producing 500 boepd. First Kazakhstani jackup starts drilling in the Caspian Sea
The first jackup built in Kazakhstan will start drilling operations in the Cheleken – Turkmenian sector of the Caspian Sea.After modification in 2021, the rig’s lifting capacity increased from 453 to 680 tons, which gives new opportunities for larger projects. The rig, named the Satti, is designed to drill wells up to 6,000 m deep.A branch of KMG Drilling and Services, a KazMunayGas subsidiary, was opened in Ashgabat due to help to run activities in Turkmenistan.In August this year, KMG DS and Dragon Oil Turkmenistan signed a contract for drilling works in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.(2024-10-11)
Petrobras confirms Guajira Offshore Basin gas discovery in Colombia
Following up on the extension of the gas discoveries in the Uchuva-1 and Uchuva-2 wells, renamed Sirius-1 and Sirius-2, Petrobras confirms that the gas potential in the discoveries located in the Guajira Offshore Basin, in Colombia, is around 6 trillion cu ft in place, confirming the magnitude of the discoveries made in the area.Petrobras acts as operator (44.44%) in a consortium formed with Ecopetrol (55.56%). The consortium will continue operations to develop the area in accordance with planning and contractual forecasts with the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH).(2024-10-07)

Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, met with His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of the Republic of Suriname, and Annand Jagesar, CEO of Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V., Suriname’s National Oil Company, to announce the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the GranMorgu development located on offshore Block 58.The GranMorgu project will develop the 2023 Sapakara and Krabdagu oil discoveries. Criterium Energy releases operational update on workover program, spud of MGH-43
The latest Criterium Energy operational update includes optimization and drilling activities. Highlights of the program include the completion of 11 of 15 workovers, including two in March, five in June, and four in August. The next tranche is expected to be undertaken in Q4 2024.The workover program in August 2024 and completion of pump maintenance in the Pematang Lantih field in the Tungkal PSC has increased total production to approximately 950 bbl/d.Criterium also confirmed the spud of MGH-43, the first of two planned and operated infill wells to be drilled from a new well pad within the proven MGH Field
OGDCL and CCDC sign MOU for exploration in Pakistan
Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) signed an MOU with China’s CCDC for the development of shale and tight gas potential of Pakistan and address the country’s energy needs through indigenous solutions.The MOU was signed by OGDCL’s Executive Director (Production), Mr Mumtaz Ali Soomro, and CCDC’s Vice President, Mr Zhang Zhidong, during the 8th Silk Road International Exposition and Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation Between East and West China in Xi’an city of Shaanxi province of China. Trans Canada places second well on production in GP reservoir
Trans Canada Gold has placed its second newly drilled multilateral well on production. The company encountered oil in the GP reservoir target zones of interest and the well started production on September 7th. Croverro Energy, the operator, has finished battery construction and successfully completed the well.It is currently recovering drilling fluid with increased oil recovery percentage and oil production rates will be released shortly once production has stabilized.Trans Canada has acquired additional lands inside the Area of Mutual Interest (AMI), contiguous with existing lands, which will allow additional opportunity for multilateral wells. Archer secures platform drilling contract with OKEA
OKEA ASA awarded Archer a platform drilling contract with with an initial estimated value of NOK 850 million over five years, including an additional two-year optional period.Archer will provide comprehensive platform drilling services, including workover and drilling operations, well maintenance and drilling facilities engineering to enhance OKEA’s offshore asset Brage in Norway.
