Saipem signs new contracts and extensions worth $135 million

Petrobras obtains license for exploratory research in Amapá deep waters
Petrobras received an environmental license from Ibama to drill an exploratory well in block FZA-M-059, located in deep waters off Amapá, 500 km from the mouth of the Amazon River and 175 km from the coast, on the Brazilian Equatorial Margin.The drill rig is already at the well site, and drilling is expected to start immediately, with an estimated duration of five months. Through this exploratory activity, the company aims to gather additional geological data and assess whether there is oil and gas in the area at an economic scale. BP confirms discovery in Namibia’s Orange Basin
BP confirmed the preliminary results of the Volans-1X exploration well in Namibia’s Orange Basin. Petroleum Exploration License 85 (PEL85), where the well was drilled, is operated by Rhino Resources. Co-venturers are Azule Energy, NAMCOR and Korres Investments. BP holds a 50% interest in Azule Energy.The Volans-1X exploration well, drilled using the Northern Ocean’s semi-submersible Deepsea Mira, reached a total depth of 4,497.5 m true vertical depth subsea and penetrated the Upper Cretaceous target. SLB, SBM collaborate on digital solutions to improve uptime performance
SLB and SBM entered into an exclusive digital alliance to optimize the performance of offshore production systems. The companies will create an AI-powered digital ecosystem that improves uptime performance and reduces total cost of ownership for offshore operators.The digital ecosystem will allow offshore asset operators across operations, maintenance and engineering to identify and resolve emerging challenges before they escalate. Petrobras awards Halliburton deepwater contracts in Brazil
Petrobras awarded multiple contracts to Halliburton to provide vessel stimulation, intelligent completions and safety valves in Brazil’s deepwater fields after a competitive process. The contracts are expected to begin in 2026.In the Búzios field, Halliburton will deploy its SmartWell completion technology to enable real-time reservoir management. For the Séepia and Atapu fields, Halliburton will provide EcoStar electric tubing retrievable safety valves (eTRSV) to improve the safety and efficiency.Additionally, Halliburton’s Stim Star Brasil will deliver stimulation services that focus on reservoir productivity and improve asset performance.(2025-10-16)
Eni drills first appraisal well on Bacton CCS project
An appraisal well operated by Eni was drilled on the Hewett field, in the Southern North Sea, for the Bacton CCS project. It is the first carbon storage appraisal well to be drilled on acreage licensed by the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) as part of the world’s first large-scale carbon storage licensing round in 2023.Hewett, 18 mi off the Norfolk coast, was one of the UKCS’s longest serving gas fields. Kinh Ngu Trang Nam project opens four wells
The Kinh Ngu Trang Nam (KNT-KTN) field development project opened four wells on the WHP-KTN platform to receive the first oil flow. Located in Block 09-2/09, it is implemented by a joint venture comprised of PetroVietnam and AO Zarubezhneft.The scope of work includes the construction of the CPP-KNT central platform, the WHP-KTN wellhead platform, infield and interfield pipelines and subsea cables and modifications to the MSP-10, MSP-9 and BK-15 platforms.(2025-10-14)
Chevron: Drilling of Korikori-1 exploration well to begin
Chevron is expected to begin drilling the Korikori-1 exploration well this month. The well is located approximately 78 km offshore, in the north-central part of Block 5 at a water depth of around 40 m. Block 5 is operated by Chevron in partnership with Paradise Oil and Qatar Energy.Suriname’s National Environmental Authority (NMA) granted Chevron a permit for the drilling operations at the end of July 2025.
